David J. Pesek earned a Ph.D. in psychology in 1986 and another Ph.D. in iridology in 1993. He earned a Master’s degree in psychology and human behavior in 1976. David has two undergraduate majors: pre-medicine biology, 1971 and psychology in 1973. He is a clinical nutritionist and in 1988 became a member of Iridologists International, an elite, honorary association founded by the late Dr. Bernard Jensen. He has been a brother in the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, Alpha Eta Chapter, since 1969. David is also a psychotherapist and a member of PSI CHI, the National Honor Society of Psychology since 1973.

Dr. Pesek has studied various teachings of iridology from around the world and has blended them into one dynamic system – Holistic Iridology^® – which includes his unique contribution to this science by developing the interpretation of genetically inherited subconscious and conscious thought and emotional patterns seen in the eyes. He has authored a series of seminars and texts on the subject of Holistic Iridology^® that have been approved for post-graduate education degrees and continuing education credit in various healthcare fields. Currently, Dr. Pesek has students and graduates in over 60 countries reaching all continents.

David has practiced naturopathic healthcare throughout his professional career, beginning in 1976 until the present. He has given successful expert witness testimony in a court of administrative law regarding the validity of iridology as a means of health assessment. Further, Dr. Pesek is the only iridologist from the Americas ever invited to speak (4 times from 1989-2005) at the prestigious International Course for Irisdiagnosis in Germany (founded by the late Josef Deck).

He is the founding director of the Center for Effective Living^®, established in 1976. By 1985, this institution was one of the first and foremost comprehensive, holistic, integrative healthcare centers on the North American continent. He is credited with establishing the term, Holistic Healthcare Practitioners, in directory assistance in the United States. David is on the leading edge in the field with his advancements in developing a truly holistic model of iris analysis and wellness programs. Dr. Pesek is known as the Father of Holistic Iridology.

David has received the Hixson Fellowship Award (1984) from Kiwanis International for his years of effort to support life enrichment programs for children. He has also been knighted by the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem as a Knight Commander of Grace (2007) for his lifetime of work in helping to improve the health of humanity.

Dr. Pesek has also been recognized and honored, twice, with a Doctor Honoris Causa in Health Sciences (2017 and 2018) for his research and development of Holistic Iridology^® and his pioneering work in natural healthcare on a global level. These awards were presented by two international medical associations through universities.

David has a deep appreciation and love for all of nature. His lifelong hobby since the age of 10 is photography. He expresses his creativity through his award-winning pictures of nature and wildlife. David then blends these images into his teachings in Holistic Iridology^® and natural healthcare to show man’s intimate connection and need for balance with nature and the Divine.

Dr. Pesek is heralded as “The New Pioneer in Iridology” (1997), and as “One of the World’s Pre-eminent Iridologists” (1999) by leading natural health organizations. He has received the Dr. Ignaz Péczely Award (2006) in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of iridology worldwide. As an internationally recognized authority in the fields of iridology and human behavior, David shares his knowledge through lectures, seminars, and clinical practice. He has personally taught his dynamic system of Holistic Iridology^® on five continents. He also serves as the founding and current president of the International Institute of Iridology^® (1994) and of the International College of Iridology^® (1999).

David is the founding and current producer of “OUR” Annual International Integrative Healthcare and Holistic Iridology Congress™, which he began in 2000. This is the premier event of its kind and brings people together from around the world to exchange their love, knowledge, and wisdom. Dr. Pesek is also on the faculty of several international institutions that teach natural and integrative medicine.

For nearly a half century, David’s passionate, pioneering, and visionary work has been helping to bring about the renaissance and advancement of natural healthcare through his dedication to the wellness and spiritual enlightenment of all humanity.
